Teaser Tuesday: The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett

Happy Tuesday!!! This week's teaser is brought to you from Mindee Arnett's upcoming YA debut, The Nightmare Affair, slated to hit shelves in early March from Tor Teen.

Enjoy!!!

Trying to ignore the more interesting bits of that naked body, I reached over and gently took hold of the guy's arm. One soft tug and he rolled over. When I saw his face, I almost cried out in alarm.

Re-read Challenge Updates!

I'm participating in the Re-read event of Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, and o my God, it's even better the FOURTH time around haha. I seriously cannot get enough of this book or of Kaidan *sigh* ultimate bad boy!

The first few chapters of Sweet Evil really set up the tension between Anna and Kai, Anna's just trying to get a grasp on her heritage and all it entails. It doesn't help that Kai seems to challenge her at every encounter. I love the scene that introduces both us and Anna, to Kai's demon father. We begin to understand why Kai's so hot and cold with Anna and it's so sexy how he protects her from his father, we're starting to see his good side come through, if only a little.

My favourite teaser:

In a few easy strides he closed the distance between us and was in front of me, very close, with his head cocked to the side. I seemed to amuse him, for some reason. But then his face went cruel, and his empty hand rested against the wall above my shoulder. Our faces were inches apart. His eyes held me frozen in place. I was very aware of the knife at his side, held in his other hand. Coming here had been a massive mistake.
Sweet Evil, p.91

Intense, right?

Can't wait to continue on the chapter 10!!! Road trip here we come! haha

I'm on chapter 7 right now, on my re-read of Matched, so I'm a little behind, but I have no fear I'm sure I will prevail haha!

How is your re-reading coming along???

ARC Review: Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

Poison Princess by Kresley Cole
Now Available!!!
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Source: ARC from Publisher
Synopsis:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole introduces The Arcana Chronicles, post-apocalyptic tales filled with riveting action, the dark mysticism of Tarot cards, and breathtaking romance. She could save the world—or destroy it.

Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

But she can’t do either alone.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side….

My Thoughts:
So intense, bring on book #2!

This book was filled with sexual tension, that only a seasoned romance writer, could accomplish. Cajun is the new vampire lover in YA haha.

Poison Princess has it all, a great plot, lots of action, a snarky protagonist, and a sexy and o-so-mysterious hero- who rides a motorcycle! Our protagonist, Evie, is dealt quite the blow in the beginning of PP, as predicted, the apocalypse has fallen. It's the end of the world for her- literally, and she keeps envisioning this younger boy, Matthew, who seems to hold all the answers she seeks. Having lost all her friends and loved-ones, Evie sets out to find this mysterious boy. Along for the ride is Jack.

Sexy Jack, this boy has bad boy written all over him. He wants to protect Evie but he has trouble getting past her princess ways, in the beginning, but the tension that builds between these two will have you going for a glass of water to cool you down. Haha. He knows Evie isn't being completely truthful with him, and she's having a hard time trusting him, especially when another woman enters the picture (but I won't delve further into this as to not be too spoilery).

Of course, these two are forced to fight the evil forces that have brought on the Flash, and Cole has penned many great fighting scenes and an exciting road trip for these two. Can these two stop a second Apocalypse? Well you'll just have to read to find out!

Great YA debut from Cole, intense sexual tension, tons of action and an ending the will leave you crying out NOOOO!!!! Definitely pick up this book.

Happy Reading!!!
